I rediscovered some handwritten letters from my late mum written to me in the 90s whilst I travelled around Australia and her script and words were instantly recognisable to me. They took me back to a time when we had less access to more instant methods of communication.

Rereading the letters, they mean more to me today than when I received them - I can imagine and appreciate the love and kindness behind the act of sitting down and writing those correspondences.

Although this is a very personal project for me, I hope that the audience of this piece can be nudged into thinking about what is lost and what is gained from the ways we communicate today.
